Being a daughter of a piano teacher, Virginia began her piano training since the age of 3. Although she had a difficult time obtaining consistent piano lessons from her mother when she was young, at the age of 14, she passed the Grade 8 piano examination of the Royal School of Music in her hometown, Hong Kong. As she moved to the United States for the pursuit of college degree 6 years ago, she has been teaching piano part-time. After she got her first degree in Sociology in 2008, she started pursuing her second degree in Music Education at San Jose State University.  She is now a junior at the music department of San Jose State University, studying under Dr. Gwendolyn Mok and Dr. Namik Sultanov.
