Leah Nasciemento
Piano Instructor

Leah showed an interest in piano at a very early age. Before she started formal lessons, Leah would ‘play’ the piano for her grandparents, who were always a very captive and gracious audience. At age six, Leah finally got the lessons she had been begging for.She started with Ophelia Raboca at the San Jose Academy of Music. In the beginning, Leah’s lessons were only 30 minutes long, to match her very young attention span. Everybody was impressed with Leah’s commitment which quickly developed into a passion.By the age of seven, Leah had entered into her first Certificate of Merit program: a state certified program consisting of 10 levels. Passing from one level to the next requires site reading, ear training, theory, technique, performance skills and memorizing multiple pieces.

Throughout middle and high school, Leah routinely participated in local classical piano competitions, played at weddings, recitals, musical theater productions and other events. After completed all levels of the Certificate of Merit, she began training under Piano Instructor Eric Barlaan, She currently studies under Piano Instructor Hans Boepple at Santa Clara University while she gets her degree in both Music Performance and Psychology.
